Rock desert on the edge of the Namib
Damaraland is an often-neglected destination in Namibia. Yet, this rock desert on the edge of the Namib offers some of the most dramatic scenery and an abundance of wild life. Once you’ve visited these beautiful landscapes, seen the desert elephant, lion and rhino, you’ll return over and over again. A journey through Damaraland has it’s 4×4 challenges, but the rewards more than compensate for any endurance.
The Damaraland tour takes us to the seal colony at Cape Cross, Rhino Camp in the Ugab, the mysterious fountain at Gai-as, the Valley of Desolation, the rock paintings and engravings at Twyfelfontein, Divorce Pass and the majestic Brandberg.
This journey allows novice 4×4 drivers to get to know their vehicle and how to make full use of its abilities. By the end of the week you will be an expert and will know when, where and why to engage diff lock and low range.
